Dozens Gather to Protest Police Arrest of Disabled Man

A rally Saturday protested the arrest of a disabled man. People gathered at Jefferson and Bartlett, where Benny Warr was arrested on May 1st.Warr was arrested after police asked people to clear the corner. because of drug activity. Warr refused, saying he was waiting for the bus. The incident came to light because a bystander posted a video to youtube.

In court this week, Warr pleaded not guilty to resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Police say he cursed at them and struggled. The department is reviewing the incident.
