The Ruling Clawss by A. Redfield

New Yorker cartoonist Syd Hoff broke into the magazine in the 1930s where he depicted working class folk for the magazine. He also published pointed political cartoons under the name A. Redfield in The Daily Worker.  These were collected into a book, The Ruling Clawss in 1935. You will find this story told and see some samples of Syd Hoff and A. Redfield cartoons in this email from New Yorker cartoon editor Bob Mankoff.
