THE WARS AND DRONE KILLINGS CONTINUE…
(WITHOUT A WORD IN THE ELECTION CAMPAIGNS)
JOIN US FOR AN
MARKING THE 11TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE AFGHANISTAN WAR
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2012
4:00 – 5:30 PM AT THE FEDERAL BUILDING
• Obama “ended” the war in Iraq…but an army of US contractors
remains – and violence in Iraq has hit a two-year peak, with 88 people
killed in 30 attacks across the country in a single day.
• 84,000 American troops remain in war-torn Afghanistan. Every day one U.S.
soldier is killed in combat and another commits suicide.
• From June 2004 til mid-September 2012, between 2,562 and 3,325
people were killed in drone strikes in Pakistan alone, including 474
civilians and 176 children.
• We are spending $2 billion dollars per week on war in Afghanistan –
instead of on our devastated communities, our schools, our jobs, our health care.
